The Coolest Mailbox Ever!
Maestro the Morgan and Derby Pie the TB

The second photo is Maestro the Morgan. I bought him last November to hunt. He is a great guy, but very, very strong, so we have been experimenting with bits. I think we have found the right combination in an elevator with a Waterford bit and a figure eight noseband. Lily Wray-Davis hunted him for me the last three hunts and thinks this will work. In the meantime I am taking lessons on him, have started working out at the Y and riding him as much as I can. Hopefully by the summer is over, we will have it all under control.
The first photo is Derby Pie, a retired show TB He was given to me from Starr Kramer in Lexington, KY. He is now Maestro's companion. They are hilarious together, like two old men, sometimes having fun, sometimes being grumpy at each other. They are a lot of fun to watch.

Happy New Year
Already it's 2013 and new projects are on the horizon. This morning the blanket bars were attached to all of the stall doors, and the wall blanket hanger was hung, so now the barn looks so much better. I also talked with Jason Travis and he is going to get me an estimate on tearing down the old chicken coop that once served as Nancy's run-in. It's pretty well falling apart and needs to come down. Andy and I just got back from Las Vegas and what a place! It made me so grateful to have Laughing Fox Farm, our heaven on earth.
Bill Kenner took this photo of Maestro and me hunting a week or so ago. I don't think I enjoy hunting at all - HA!
There is not a lot happening her during the winter which is usual for a farm. Stay tuned for more posts as it warms. Happy New Year and stay warm!

Well, I couldn't stay away from hunting. After much searching, and actually giving up on finding my next hunter, I had sold a lot of my kit, and then I happened upon Maestro. He was introduced to me by his owners Judy and Karen. He needed a new owner who would hunt him and love him like the gentleman he is. I picked him up this past Monday, and he is fitting in very well. His real name ought to be Cool Hand Luke, he is laid back, but doesn't' take much from the alpha, Derby. I hope to have and hunt him for a long time to come. Welcome to LFF, Maestro!
In the meantime, Cappuccino's original owner wants him home and that works perfectly for me. So tomorrow he will be picked up and taken back to Monticello, FL. He has been a jewel and will be just the perfect pony to teach the children whom Cathy Taber will teach with him! Thank you, Cap for being my summer riding partner.

It weighs a ton! very beautiful. Thank you, Kathie Fuston for nominating our home for this honor and to Greg Martin for presenting us with the award.
