Restoration has started today on the Summer Kitchen. David Travis and his crew are doing the work. Here are the first photos. It is expected to take about a month.
The logs are so fascinating, have never seen them before today as they were covered with clapboard. We are saving the clapboard to be used inside. I didn't even realize that there is a loft in the building. The young men who started the work have discovered some things that look like a churn and maybe a crock up there. As they take out the "ceiling" which is the loft floor, we will see what discoveries unfold. So far they have discovered a broken piece of china from Vienna, Austria! We are saving all the things that we find, even broken china.
